Outpatient clinic provides a service for substance abusers and their family members. Assessments of drug and
alcohol use, and plans for treatment are made in multidisciplinary team together with the patient. The foundation Päihdepalvelusäätiö offers also support on recovery counselling at patients’ home. We also educate
professionals who encounter substance abusers in their work.

Portti Center of health councelling for iv drug users

Free and anonymous service; no prior
appointments required. There is possibility
to get clean syringes, needles and other instruments for intravenous drug use.
Possibility to get hepatitis A and B vaccinations and referrals to Hepatitis
and HIV tests. Possibility to discuss confidentially with councellors and
receive advice and guidance to other health services.

Portti is open on Mondays from 14.00 to 16.00, on Tuesdays from 16.00 to 18.00 and on Thursdays from 13.00 to 16.00.

Rehab and detoxification center


Inpatient drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation; Inpatient addiction treatment (24/7) supports patients suitably to meet the needs and circumstances of the patient, with collaboration of outpatient care.

The services of detoxification ward are designed to stop substance abuse spiral and to tend to the withdrawal symptoms. The course of treatment is planned together with the patient. The focus is to create the basis for physical, psychological and social rehabilitation of the patient.



Alcohol detoxification includes treatment of
the withdrawal symptoms of long term excessive drinking. Plans for post-treatment continuing care are also made together with the patient. The duration of the treatment is from five to seven days

Drug and / or multi substance detoxification (duration 2-4 weeks) is designed to treat the withdrawal
symptoms according to the substances the patient is addicted to. Post- treatment continuing care is likewise arranged in cooperation with the patient.
